The Biote Method of BHRT is customized to each patient’s unique physiology based on a consultation and extensive lab work. Because of this, every program is tailored to the patient.

While everyone’s results are different, the process for considering, getting, monitoring, and continuing with BHRT is typically the same with most patients. The first appointment with one of our Certified Platinum BioTE medical providers will involve extensive hormone testing.

The next appointment will review the patient’s test results. Then, if the provider finds that the patient’s hormone levels are unbalanced and determines that the patient is a candidate, the hormone pellet insertion can be performed during that visit. 

Bioidentical hormone replacement for men may help any man whose hormones are out of balance. Hormone imbalance frequently occurs as we age. However, there are instances like hypogonadism that can occur at any age. Our Certified Platinum providers will qualify patients based on their individual lab results and current hormone levels.

The goal of hormone optimization therapy is to provide patients with an enhanced sense of wellbeing. This could mean a return to the balance they once knew, or it could also mean providing a balance never felt by the patient before. In addition to feeling great, balancing male hormones may be able to help reduce the risk of certain concerns connected to hormone health.

Hormone pellets also offer a natural hormone balance method that keeps your levels in the optimal range 24/7. Methods that put your hormones on a roller coaster by taking something every day, like shots and creams, don’t offer the benefit of balanced hormones 24 hours a day. The release of the hormones is regulated by your cardiac output. As your heart pumps faster, like when you are working out, blood flow increases over the pellet and increases the release of hormone required by your increase in activity. While you are sleeping, when your cardiac output is lowered, less hormone is released.

The hormones used in Biote’s Method of BHRT are delivered to men in pellet form, and within up to two to four weeks, patients may begin to feel hormone therapy benefits. During an in-office visit, a patient is brought into the exam room, and the insertion site, usually somewhere around the upper buttocks, is numbed. A small incision is made, and the hormone pellet is inserted. Afterward, the insertion site is covered with a small bandage. The pellet dissolves, and the body absorbs the contents, leaving nothing behind. Every patient’s symptoms are unique, so each journey is customized to fit their needs. Some patients report seeing improvement in as little as four weeks, but full optimization can take up to six months. 

First, a patient schedules an office visit to test current hormone levels. Based on a comprehensive consultation and extensive lab work, our Certified Platinum BioTE providers will determine candidacy through the Biote Method. Patients will schedule a follow-up appointment to review their results and, if they qualify as a candidate, they can receive pellet therapy insertion that day.

Pellets last up to five to six months depending on weight, absorption rates, and the amount of deficiency or surplus of hormones present within the patient at the time of insertion. Pellets are reinserted about two times per year to help keep hormones optimized and balanced and may take up to two insertions before feeling the full benefits.
